New jukebox musical to get Hollywood debut

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Broadway's Laura Bell Bundy and Tenacious D.'s Kyle Glass will headline "Rock of Ages," a new jukebox musical set in the mid-1980s.

The show, set in clubs along the Sunset Strip, is scheduled to open in January at the Vanguard in Hollywood, Daily Variety reported.

The production will feature songs such as "Sister Christian," "I Hate Myself for Loving You," "Here I Go Again" and "High Enough."

Bundy was the original Amber von Tussle in the Broadway cast of the Tony-winning musical "Hairspray" and was nominated for Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk awards for her performance in Off Broadway's "Ruthless."

She played Marah Lewis on CBS TV's "Guiding Light" and appeared on the big screen in "Jumanji," "Life with Mikey," "Adventures of Huck Finn," "Strangers with Candy" and "Curtis Court."
