Missy Elliott prepares biopic

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Hip-hop superstar Missy Elliott has been spending her "down" time due to a torn Achilles tendon by penning a film script based on her life.

Elliott was told to take six months off from performing after undergoing surgery to repair the tear. So, she told MTV.com, she decided to write a film to acquaint the world with "the real Missy Elliott."

Most fans think of her "like a character in the TV world" since they only know her through her music and videos.

"They really don't know my life story about my father being abusive, the rape (at age 8, by a 16-year-old cousin)," she said. "So y'all will see that soon."

The highest-selling female rap star of all time has hardly taken her injury sitting down -- even though she described it as "the worst pain ever."

She recently performed her latest single, "We Run This," for the Spike TV Video Game Awards, which airs Dec. 10, remixed Ashlee Simpson's new single "L.O.V.E." and is working with Adidas on her Respect ME line.
