NEW YORK, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen apparently is telling the Kazakhstan government -- which has threatened to sue him -- to bring it on.
Kazakh officials were angered after the star of "Da Ali G Show" hosted the MTV Europe Music Awards Show last month as "Borat," a fictional and offensive Kazakh TV host. Cohen was warned by state officials that if he did not drop "Borat" from his act, he could face legal action.
"I like to state I have no connection with Mr. Cohen and fully support my government's position to sue this Jew," Cohen -- who is Jewish -- posted on his Web site wwww.borat.kz, the New York Post reported Saturday.
"Since 2003 ... Kazakhstan is as civilized as any other country in the world. Women can now travel on inside of bus, homosexuals no longer have to wear blue hat, and age of consent has been raised to 8."
Cohen often features the character of Borat on his HBO show and once even got Arizona bar patrons to sing "Throw the Jew Down the Well," which he described as a popular Kazakh folk song.
