Petrie signs on to direct 'Chasing Dinner'

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Director Donald Petrie says the Yari Film Group's "Chasing Dinner" is one of the most unique scripts he has read "in a long time."

The writing team of Bruce Evans and Ray Gideon who produced "Starman" and "Stand by Me" is about what happens when three pigs escape the butcher during the holiday season and become "hams on the lam," The Hollywood Reporter said Monday.

"This is one of the most laugh-out-loud funny, heartwarming and completely unique scripts I have read in a long time," Petrie told The Reporter.

The film is expected to start shooting early next year.'

Petrie credits include "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," "Miss Congeniality" "Grumpy Old Men" and "Mystic Pizza." He recently finished directing Lindsay Lohan in "Just My Luck."
