Dutch film to look at Islam and gays

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- A member of the Dutch parliament said she will make a film about Islam and homosexuality as a sequel to a religion-based movie that got a collaborator killed.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali said she plans for "Submission 2" to be released next year. She said the film would deal with what she said is discrimination against homosexuals in Muslim societies.

Ali said she and Theo Van Gogh wrote the script for the film in 2004. Van Gogh was killed in a daylight assassination last year after a showing of the first collaboration. That film told the story of a Muslim woman forced into a marriage. The main character was raped and beaten for falling in love with someone other than her chosen husband.

Ali received death threats after Van Gogh's killing and is under police protection. To protect those involved with "Submission 2," Ali said there will be no list of credits and actors will have their faces obscured.
