Swedish king reveals all in new biography

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Nov. 10 (UPI) -- Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf says in a new book he was too young when he ascended to the throne 32 years ago at age 27.

The king and others close to him spoke candidly for Swedish author Herman Lindqvist's biography marking the monarch's 60th birthday next year, the Local reported Thursday.

Gustaf described in great length how hard it was being younger than the members of his cabinet and even other heads of state, Lindqvist told Aftonbladet.

The book also reveals details of the young king's four-year long clandestine relationship with Silvia Sommerlath, now Queen Silvia.
