Academy to honor Olivia de Havilland

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Tuesday announced it will honor Oscar-winning screen legend Olivia de Havilland.

The two-time Academy Award winner and five-time nominee will travel from her home in France to Beverly Hills, Calif., June 15, 2006 to be honored with an Academy Tribute at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater, the Academy said in a news release.

The event will feature clips from her many films including "Captain Blood" with Errol Flynn, "Gone with the Wind" and "The Snake Pit."

De Haviland was born July 1, 1916 in Tokyo to British parents and made her screen debut in 1935 as Hermia in Max Reinhardt's "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
