NEW YORK, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- It looks like rap star DMX has a bed reserved for him for a 40-day stay at New York's Rikers Island prison.
The rapper, whose real name is Richard Simmons, pleaded guilty Tuesday to violating the terms of his conditional release for a bizarre 2004 incident when he claimed to be a federal agent and tried to steal a car at Kennedy International Airport. He had pleaded guilty in that case but was ordered to stay out of trouble.
Since then, he has been ticketed twice for driving without a license and one incident involved a crash that slightly injured two police officers.
Murray Richman, DMX's attorney, told MTV the rapper entered the guilty plea under terms of a deal worked out with prosecutors.
The rapper will be in court Nov. 17 for sentencing, which Richman said will be 40 days at Rikers but no fines or probation attached.
