BURBANK, Calif., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Marlon Brando's son refused to testify more than two dozen times Tuesday in the Burbank, Calif., wrongful death trial of actor Robert Blake.
Christian Brando -- who spent five years in prison for killing his sister's boyfriend -- repeatedly invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination when he was called to testify in the wrongful death suit Bonny Lee Bakley's children filed against Blake, who was acquitted of her murder, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Under questioning by Blake's attorney, Brando admitted telling Bakley over the telephone: "You're lucky somebody hasn't put a bullet in your head."
Blake's lawyer unsuccessfully tried to get details of Brando's relationship with Bakley, a convicted felon who conned single men out of their money.
Bakley first claimed Brando was the father of her daughter Rosie and named her Christian Brando. But once DNA tests proved the infant was Blake's, she married the "Baretta" star and renamed her Rose Lenore Sophie Blake, the Times said.
