TV Guide unveils new format

NEW YORK, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- TV Guide magazine Tuesday unveiled its new format as a full-color, full-sized publication.

The cover of the Oct. 17 issue features Ty Pennington of "Extreme Home Makeover: Home Edition."

TV Guide Publishing Group President Scott Crystal hailed the expansion from a pocket-size publication to a full-sized magazine as a "historic transformation."

The changes were made in response to reader's demands, he said.

The new TV Guide sells for 99 cents until year's end, then goes up to $1.99 starting in 2006.

The magazine currently has a paid circulation about about 4.5 million, TV Guide said in a news release.
