'Judge Judy' gets four more years on bench

NEW YORK, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- "Judge Judy" will get at least four more years on the TV bench.

Paramount Domestic TV renewed the syndicated court show for another four years, through the 2009-10 season, Daily Variety reports.

"Judge Judy," anchored by Judy Sheindlin for nine seasons, has been the No. 1 court TV show for more than 470 weeks, Variety said.

One industry expert said Sheindlin is "so much a part of culture that she's regularly satirized on 'Saturday Night Live.'"
