Madonna dumps video director

LONDON, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Madonna has dumped David LaChapelle as director of her music video for "Hung Up" and hooked up with Johan Renck instead.

"Creative differences" were cited for the change in the directors, Madonna's people told TV's "The Insider" Friday.

Production on "Hung Up" starts next month in London.

It will be the second collaboration between Renck and the Material Girl, the TV news magazine reported. Renck directed Madonna's "Nothing Really Matters" video in 1999.

Talks are reportedly under way to have the video make its world premiere over three networks simultaneously -- MTV, VH1 and Logo.

Madonna's latest album, "Confessions from the Dance Floor," is due out Nov. 15.
