LOS ANGELES, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Rocker/actress Courtney Love escaped jail and was sentenced in Los Angeles to another 180 days in rehab for probation violations.
In issuing the order Friday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Rand Rubin said he was "very pleased" with the progress Love has made since he first ordered her into rehab Aug. 20 after she overdosed at a Hollywood party, The Los Angeles Times reported Saturday.
Rubin could have ordered her to jail for her admission of drug use, but instead sent her back to the residential facility and tacked another 18 months to her probation for violations stemming from earlier assault and drug charges.
"I'm very pleased with your progress," Rubin told the rocker. "I think it's an excellent first step on your road to recovery."
Love, 41, dressed in a skirt and sweater, did not respond or address the court during the hearing, the Times said.
