LONDON, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- "Coronation Street" won top soap honors and Christopher Eccleston was crowned Best Actor for "Dr. Who" at Britain's TV Quick And TV Choice Awards.
The Best Actress award went to Julie Walters for her portrayal of a tough headmistress in "Ahead of the Class" and "The Antiques Roadshow" was crowned best lifestyle show during the Sunday night ceremony at London's Dorchester Hotel, the Sun reported Monday.
"Emmerdale" received the award for Best Soap Storyline and its star Emma Atkins was crowned Best Soap Actress. "EastEnders" star Shane Richie won Best Soap Actor and its Lacey Turner was named Best Soap Newcomer.
"Strictly Come Dancing" was named best entertainment show and "I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!" beat "Big Brother" for the best reality show award.
The top drama award went to "Footballers' Wives" while "Desperate Housewives" was named Best New Drama. "The Paul O'Grady Show" was named tops in daytime and the Best Comedy crown went to "The Vicar of Dibley."
