BURBANK, Calif., Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Writer/director M. Night Shyamalan has started production on Warner Bros. Pictures' "Lady in the Water," it was announced Monday.
The ensemble cast is led by Paul Giamatti of "Sidways" and Bryce Dallas Howard of "The Village." Also featured are "Six Feet Under's" Freddy Rodriguez, Jeffery Wright of "Angels in America" and Bob Balaban of "A Mighty Wind."
Shyamalan originally wrote "Lady in the Water" for his children, Warner said in a news release. It's about a modest building manager who rescues a mysterious young woman who is actually a character from a bedtime story trying to make the treacherous journey back to her world.
As the story evolves, Cleveland and his fellow tenants start to realize that they, too, are characters in the bedtime story.
The movie will be filmed on location in Philadelphia.
