AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- The Netherlands' two largest museums Thursday announced plans to join forces for a exhibit uniting old masters Rembrandt and Caravaggio.
The Rembrandt-Caravaggio exhibit of 25 works will be curated by Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. It will open at the Van Gogh Feb. 24 and run until June 18, the BBC reported.

The exhibit will mark the end of events celebrating the birth of Rembrandt 400 years ago. The Dutch painter and Caravaggio, an Italian, dominated Baroque art in the 1600s.
Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio was born in 1571 and worked primarily in southern Europe, in Italy and Malta. Rembrandt van Rijn flourished in the Netherlands and died in 1669.
