Ben Affleck pitches TV drama series

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Hollywood actor Ben Affleck is reportedly in talks to create and write a TV drama series about a second American Revolution.

Affleck is pitching the show with Live Planet partner Sean Bailey, Daily Variety reported Monday. The two who worked on the Emmy nominated "Project Greenlight" for HBO and Bravo, previously created the 2002 reality show, "Push, Nevada."

Affleck -- who won an Oscar for writing "Good Will Hunting" -- is writing the "Resistance" pilot by himself, Variety said. In the plot, the United States is divided into separate countries following terrorist attacks. It follows a group of modern rebels who fight to make the United States whole again.

A source familiar with the pitch, told Variety the show will carry an optimistic message with a pro-democracy slant.
