PARIS, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- French novelist Annabel Buffet was cremated at the Pere Lachaise cemetery Friday, two days after her death at age 77.

The wife of celebrated French painter Bernard Buffet, she had experienced a colorful career that included stints as an actress, model and painter before settling on writing.

Among Buffet's works of fiction and autobiographies included the book, "Post-Scriptum," dedicated to her husband, who committed suicide in 1999.

With Buffet "disappears one of these dream women of our century, whose destiny and career mixed with beauty, talent and celebrity," said French Culture Minister Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres.
