Sex and City writer sued for $1 million

NEW YORK, June 1 (UPI) -- New York writer Candace Bushnell has been charged in a federal lawsuit with cheating her former manager out of $1 million in fees.

Clifford Streit accuses Bushnell of failing to pay him the agreed-upon 10 percent of her share for helping her sell the story that inspired the television series "Sex in the City." He estimates the show earned her $10 million, the New York Post reported.

"I think she's treated him very shabbily. She has basically forgotten who her friends were," said Streit's lawyer told the Post as he filed the suit Tuesday in Manhattan U.S. District Court.

During the four years he worked for Bushnell, Streit claims he was paid only $10,000.
