Foreigner to return with new line-up

PATCHOGUE, N.Y., May 20 (UPI) -- Rock band Foreigner's guitarist/songwriter was preparing Friday to return to the stage with a new line-up of the group.

Mick Jones, the only original member in the new lineup, will kick off a summer tour June 2 at the Patchogue Theater of Patchogue, NY, with drummer Jason Bonham, keyboardist Jeff Jacobs, bassist Jeff Pilson, saxophonist/guitarist Tom Gimbel and vocalist Kelly Hansen, Rollingstone.com reported. Hansen replaced Lou Gramm, who left the band in 2003.

"We weren't on the same page," Jones said. "We weren't really communicating. I think we really tried hard to save it, but it got to the point when we both realized that to go on would be detrimental for both of us."

Jones said the summer shows would be a warm-up for a possible new Foreigner album later this year and a world tour planned for 2006.

The group released a string of multi-platinum albums between 1977 and 1988 that included such hit songs as "Cold as Ice," "Urgent," "Waiting for a Girl Like You" and "I Want to Know What Love Is."
