NEW YORK, April 23 (UPI) -- Actress/model Elizabeth Hurley has introduced her beachwear collection, entitled Elizabeth Hurley Beach, at New York City's Saks Fifth Avenue.
The collection consists of string bikinis adorned with semi-precious stones, such as turquoise, tiger's eye and amethyst, soft feminine tops and lush caftans in silk georgette, as well as terry cloth beach bags and hats.
A colorful print used in some pieces was inspired by artist Gustav Klimt.
Hurley, who said Friday she was involved in every aspect of the project, drew inspiration from her wanderlust for exotic destinations, during her childhood in England.
"I've always been obsessed with summer clothes -- probably because I grew up in a rainy country where I was brought up never to leave the house without a cardigan and umbrella," she said. "I used to dream of glamorous, sunny places like St. Tropez and St. Barth's and in my dreams I was wearing clothes remarkably similar to these!"
The collection is sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue stores.
