Marilyn Monroe effects to be auctioned

NEW YORK, April 22 (UPI) -- New York auctioneers are planning a June bidding for Marilyn Monroe's personal effects, including a much-discussed black address book.

Julien's Auctions, which has scheduled a May preview in New York ahead of its June auction, says items being offered include the address book, though it apparently does not include the addresses of any Kennedys, the New York Daily News reported Friday.

Also in the collection are papers from Monroe's divorce from DiMaggio, her 1956 application in Manhattan to change her name from Norma Jean Mortenson to Marilyn Monroe, clothing and a watercolor of a rose she painted for President John F. Kennedy's birthday.

Her Aug. 5, 1962, death by drug overdose came before she could give Kennedy the painting.

The auction is expected to gross a minimum $600,000.
