NEW YORK, March 28 (UPI) -- Broadway actor Daniel Davis has been fired from "La Cage aux Folles" because of obnoxious behavior and behind the scenes feuding, the New York Post reported.
Davis was fired after Sunday's matinee performance, production insiders said. An understudy will step in as Georges until veteran actor Robert Goulet takes over in May.

The thespian had reportedly been fighting for weeks with Gary Beach, who plays Albin, a drag queen. Show sources said Davis was also verbally abusive to other cast and crew members and generally had a bad attitude.
The show's producers said they will buy the remainder of Davis' contract.
