Baseball duo star in Subway ads

NEW YORK, March 8 (UPI) -- New York coaching foes Joe Torre of the Yankees Willie Randolph of the Mets have been tapped for Subway's latest $5 million ad campaign.

The former Yankees teammates star in two funny TV commercials, the first of which airs March 28, the New York Daily News reported Tuesday.

In the first one, Randolph gets frustrated at a press conference because all the questions are about the sandwich in front of him. He asks, "Are there any questions about me?"

Torre stands up, points to the sub and asks, "Are you going to finish that?"

In the second spot, Randolph -- the former Yankees third-base coach -- orders a sub based on hand signs from Torre.

Unfortunately, the new ads will only air in the New York tri-state region, the Daily News said.
