Moss expected to pay Doherty's bail

LONDON, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- British model Kate Moss was expected Monday to contribute bail money to help free her boyfriend, Pete Doherty, from jail, the London Daily Mirror reported.

Doherty was assigned $279,105 bail Friday when he appeared in court on charges of robbery and blackmail. He was arrested after filmmaker Max Carlish claimed Doherty attacked him at a hotel.

Moss was approached by ex-Libertines and current Babyshambles singer's legal team to help raise funds for his release.

Help was offered by record labels EMI and Rough Trade, but court rules require the money be in the name of an individual, not a company.

Doherty and alleged accomplice Alan Wass are due in court Feb. 21.
