McCartney foresees smooth halftime show

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Hundreds of reporters jammed a news conference in Jacksonville, Fla., to ask Paul McCartney about his halftime act for Sunday's Super Bowl.

"Any thought as to what portion of your body you might expose during the Super Bowl?" asked a reporter in reference to Janet Jackson's infamous "wardrobe malfunction" during last year's halftime show.

McCartney, facing more than 40 television cameras Thursday, said "I can safely tell you I won't, because we're going to play naked," The Miami Herald reported.

The National Football League, Fox Television and veteran producer Don Mischer have done everything they can to avoid any such embarrassment in the performance.

"I'm not anticipating anything, but you never know," said Mischer. "Live television is live television. We can't control everything.

McCartney predicted the show would be a success.

"As long as it's a great game, a good show, I'm sure Jacksonville will pull it off," he said.
