LONDON, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- The mother of Kate Moss's ex-boyfriend says the British supermodel will never fall into a life of drugs with her new beau, rocker Pete Doherty.
"Kate is smarter than that. She knows what she's doing," Theresa Hack, mother of magazine publisher Jefferson Hack, told the Mirror. Hack is the father of Moss's 2-year-old daughter, Lila.
Doherty, who was kicked out of The Libertines for his heroin use, was pictured at his London flat smoking heroin last weekend. "Pete is bad news for Kate, but she is deeply attracted to him," a friend said. "All her family and friends are worried."
But Theresa Hack says Moss is in control of her relationship with Doherty.
"Lila is not going to be exposed to this kind of thing," she said. "Kate is smarter than many people think."
