LOS ANGELES, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Emmy-winning actress Betty White will be the subject of a Hollywood celebrity roast to raise funds for an animal welfare advocacy group.
White, a board member of Actors and Others for Animals, will be roasted March 12 by a panel including Ed Asner, Cloris Leachman, Gavin MacLeod, Phyllis Diller, Alex Trebek, Tom Poston and Suzanne Pleshette. The panel will also feature Fred Willard, Angie Dickinson and Paula Poundstone.
White has been nominated for 13 Emmy Awards, winning four times for her performances on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "The Golden Girls" and "The John Laroquette Show."
The event will feature a gourmet vegetarian luncheon.
Actors and Others for Animals promotes spaying and neutering of pets and provides services such as pet-assisted therapy, veterinary subsidies and humane education.
