LOS ANGELES, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Robert Zemeckis is developing, and may direct, a movie based on Jonathan Franzen's National Book Award-winning "The Corrections," Daily Variety said Thursday.
The paper said David Hare -- who received an Oscar nomination for his adaptation of Michael Cunningham's best-seller "The Hours" -- is adapting Franzen's book for the screen.

"The Corrections" is an account of three generations of a dysfunctional American family who come together at Christmastime for what will be the last family gathering at their Midwestern home.
Zemeckis recently came on board to direct a movie version of the epic poem "Beowulf," using the motion-capture technology he used on "The Polar Express."
