Rapper Young Buck pleads not guilty

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- G-Unit rapper Young Buck has pleaded not guilty in Los Angeles to assault with a deadly weapon for a stabbing at last November's Vibe Awards.

Young Buck, whose real name is David Darnell Brown, allegedly stabbed 26-year-old Jimmy James Johnson of Los Angeles after a fight at the show, reported MTV.com.

Police allege Johnson punched Dr. Dre in the face after the rapper refused to sign an autograph, sparking a brawl that was broken up a few minutes later by police using pepper spray.

The rapper, who is out on $500,000 in bail, faces up to eight years in prison if convicted.

"We entered a plea of not guilty today and we're looking forward to our day in court," said his attorney, Scott Leemon.
