NEW YORK, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Actor Wesley Snipes is suing New York for a March arrest, saying the city had no jurisdiction over him for failing to provide a DNA sample for a paternity suit.
In a suit filed Monday, the "Blade" star's lawyer said police in the Big Apple had no right to arrest Snipes because he is a resident of Florida, "Entertainment Tonight" reported. The suit also asked a judge to halt any further attempts to collect DNA from Snipes in the paternity case.

The actor has denied even knowing a 33-year-old woman, who sued in 2002 claiming Snipes is the father of her child.
