Rapper, fan charged in Vibe Awards brawl

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Rapper Young Buck was free on $500,000 bail Tuesday for allegedly stabbing a man who punched Dr. Dre at the Vibe Awards in Los Angeles.

Young Buck, a member of G-Unit whose legal name is David Darnell Brown, faces up to eight years in prison if convicted in the November stabbing of Jimmy James Johnson, MTV.com reported. Brown and Johnson, who remains in custody on a parole violation for assault, both were charged Monday.

Johnson punched Vibe Awards producer Dr. Dre for refusing to give him an autograph and Brown stabbed Johnson during a melee police broke up with pepper spray, MTV.com reported.

The brawl was edited out of the telecast of the Vibe Awards.
