LAS VEGAS, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Barry Manilow says he will spend much of next year performing at the Las Vegan Hilton, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Manilow was on Hilton's Shimmer Cabaret stage as he discussed plans to spend 24 weeks during 2005 and early 2006 playing the casino's 1,600-seat theater, the report said.
"Can you believe I'm 99 years old and I'm excited by something that's new like this?" the 58-year-old entertainer joked of the shows that will be titled "Manilow: Music and Passion."
The New York Post reported Dec. 2 that Manilow had signed a $60 million deal for a year at the Hilton. Hilton executives would not discuss specifics of the contract, but indicated there are options to extend the deal beyond a year.
Manilow will perform five shows per week, giving the shows the potential to gross more than $22 million. The Review-Journal said.
