LOS ANGELES, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Legendary rocker Ike Turner has lost two heirloom guitars, apparently to theft, "Celebrity Justice" reported Tuesday.

Turner, 73, was performing at an inner city Los Angeles nightclub two weeks ago when the two guitars went missing.

One of them used to belong to Jimi Hendrix, who had played in Ike's band in the 1950s.

Now Turner is suing concert promoter Charles Dudley for failing to provide adequate security at the venue where the two guitars were stolen.

"Had (Dudley) not told me he would be responsible for everything, there's no way I would have left it there," Turner told "CJ."

Dudley agreed he promised to guard the guitars, but added, "it's virtually impossible to watch something when you've got crowds and people."
