Exhaustion sidelines Faithfull

PARIS, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Singer Marianne Faithfull has canceled her tour for the next three months to recuperate from chronic exhaustion, NME.com reported Tuesday.

"I'm sorry to have let my fans down, but I will be back," Faithfull said.

The singer collapsed last week in Milan and doctors said Faithfull suffered a seizure brought on by chronic exhaustion, NME.com reported.

Faithfull kept an intense schedule this summer appearing in the opera "The Black Rider" in London, followed by a European promotion tour this fall backing her new album "Before The Poison."

Faithfull toured Scandinavia and in Germany before reaching Italy last week, where she collapsed. Canceled concerts will be rescheduled in the spring, promoters said. In the meantime, Faithfull is resting at her home in Paris.
