Oasis singer fined for Germany bar brawl

MUNICH, Germany, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Liam Gallagher was fined $60,000 for the Oasis singer's role in a nightclub fight in Munich, Germany, two years ago.

Gallagher, appearing in a German court during the weekend, admitted he was involved in the brawl that broke out in December 2002 at Munich's Bayerischer Hof Hotel, NME.com reported Monday.

Gallagher, drummer Alan White and three members of the band's entourage were arrested following the incident.

Gallagher, who at the time claimed he was a victim of an unprovoked attack, lost two front teeth in the fight.

Police alleged Gallagher kicked an officer in the face and had drugs and alcohol in his system.

The brawl forced the cancellation of the remainder of Oasis' German tour.

The nightclub will receive $20,000 of the fine for damages, with $7,000 going to the injured police officer. Several Munich charities will benefit from the remainder of the fine.

The man who allegedly knocked out Gallagher's teeth is set to stand trial in 2005.
