Ewan McGregor next 007?

LONDON, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Movie legend Sean Connery is pushing fellow Scot Ewan McGregor to become the next James Bond, Sky News reported Thursday.

"He's very good. He should do it if he wants to do it," said the 74-year-old star of seven Bond films who is widely considered the best of all 007s.

Bond producers are looking for a new James Bond after plans for Pierce Brosnan's fifth 007 film fell through.

Bookmakers show McGregor, 33, as the favorite to star in the next James Bond film, followed by Scotsman Dougray Scott, who starred in "Enigma" and "Ripley's Game."

Englishman Jude Law is also a contender for the part, as are Australians Eric Bana and Hugh Jackman.
