NEW YORK, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Actor Noah Wyle says he's delighted to be able to show off his sharp comedic skills in the new TV movie "The Librarian: Quest for the Spear."
For Wyle, the role of a swashbuckling bookworm who is horrified when charged with saving the world was a nice change from that of Dr. John Carter, the emergency room physician he has played for a third of his life on "ER."
"I thought it was really, really fun and that's not a word I use to describe what I've been doing for the last 11 years," Wyle told UPI during a recent phone interview.
"And the character itself, I just thought, 'I can have an absolute field day with this guy,' and I think I wore a smile on my face from the time I opened up the title page of the script to the time we shot the last scene of the movie."
"The Librarian," an action-adventure flick about a brilliant, but meek man hired to protect the history's greatest treasures, is to debut on TNT Dec. 5.
