Gary Busey settles lawsuit with landlord

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Gary Busey settled a lawsuit with his longtime landlord who accused the actor of failing to pay $22,000 in rent on a Malibu, Calif., house.

The case was closed Friday in Santa Monica, Calif., with Busey remaining at his ocean view home and Robert Wesson, the actor's landlord for the past 10 years, agreeing to repair the home per Busey's request, "Celebrity Justice" reported Monday.

Wesson filed the lawsuit last summer against Busey, whose attorney acknowledged the actor had not paid rent because the landlord ignored complaints about the house.

"There's a tremendous amount of dust and mold in the vents and the air registers. He's upset because he has excessive breathing problems. He has nosebleeds and he has difficulty living in the home," Vicki Roberts said.

Busey has agreed to pay more than half the rent he owes up front with a payment plan for the balance. The landlord agreed to repair the house.
