MIAMI, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Actor Burt Reynolds is suing his former girlfriend in West Palm Beach, Fla., accusing her of extortion.
The actor's attorneys said in a news release Pamela Seals demanded large sums of money from Reynolds, threatening to make public, false and slanderous allegations against him.
The suit said she falsely accused Reynolds of yelling at her and stomping on her toes, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
"Mr. Reynolds has been extraordinarily generous and accommodating to Ms. Seals during and after their relationship," said Reynolds' attorney, Bob Montgomery of the law firm of Montgomery & and Larson.
"The fact that she would use such tactics to extort money is greed, pure and simple," Montgomery said.
Reynolds said his 10-year relationship with the Tampa barmaid is over and she is trying to get half his estate, although they never married.
"It is very unfortunate that our relationship has ended and I wish Ms. Seals will, but I cannot and will not, be intimidated by false accusations," Reynolds said.
