Sally Field returning to TV comedy?

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 21 (UPI) -- Two-time Oscar-winning actress Sally Field may return to TV comedy, The Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.

The paper said the star of "Norma Rae" and "Places in the Heart" is considering starring in a half-hour comedy series as a middle-aged woman who suddenly decides she needs to change her life, and gets a divorce and a job.

Before she had success in feature films, Field starred in the 1960s ABC comedies "Gidget" and "The Flying Nun."

Citing sources, The Reporter said Field has expressed interest in the new TV comedy -- which was written specifically for her -- but will not commit to the project until after she has read the script.
