Nip/Tuck creator moves to big screen

NEW YORK, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Cable TV hit "Nip/ Tuck" may lose its creator to the silver screen, the New York Post reported Monday.

Ryan Murphy, creator, head writer and director of the drama that airs on FX, is seen as the lifeblood of the popular series about two Miami plastic surgeons.

But there may be a conflict between the start of production for "Nip/Tuck's" third season early next spring, and "Running With Scissors," a film he's writing and directing. It stars Julianne Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Brian Cox, and is produced by Hollywood superstar couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.

"I really don't know what's going to happen," said Murphy, who may be poised to become a major player in the movie industry. "If I don't go back to the show, then I'll never do it again."

FX president Peter Ligouri told reporters, "We absolutely intend to have Ryan back."
