Don Rickles inks Atlantic City deal

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Don Rickles will perform at Resorts Atlantic City for the first time in 15 years, a publicist for the entertainer said Monday.

Rickles was one of the first headliners at the casino when it opened 26 years ago -- along with Bill Cosby and the singing team of Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. Rickles starred at Resorts for 11 years, before moving on to other Atlantic City casinos.

His new contract calls for Rickles to perform in the Resorts' Superstar Theater for a minimum of three engagements in the next year -- beginning with a three-night stand Oct. 22-24.

"I'm thrilled to be returning to Resorts because they always took good care of me at the buffet table," said Rickles.

A graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Rickles has also turned to dramatic acting several times in his career, with roles in Martin Scorsese's "Casino" and earlier features including "Kelly's Heroes" and "Run Silent, Run Deep." He has a featured role in the upcoming TNT movie drama "The Wool Cap."
