NEW YORK, Oct. 4 (UPI) -- The spokeswoman for U.S. author Kitty Kelley, who wrote a book on the Bush family, said the author is not surprised that Sharon Bush isn't suing her.
"Sharon Bush is backing down from legal action because the statements I attribute to her in my book are accurate," Kelley told MSNBC's The Scoop via the spokeswoman. "My sympathies go out to Sharon who has suffered so greatly at the hands of the Bush family."
The spokeswoman said Sharon Bush's lawyer said the ex-wife of Neil Bush, would neither sue nor seek a retraction for alleging George W. Bush had used cocaine in the past before he was president.
Kelly quoted Bush's ex-sister-in-law in her recent book "The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty."
After the book was released, Sharon Bush said her quote had been off the record and taken out of context and she was talking to her lawyer about suing Kelley.
