'Aladdin' comes to DVD for first time

BURBANK, Calif., Sept. 22 (UPI) -- The animated Disney film "Aladdin" is coming to DVD next month for the first time after it was unavailable for sale in any form for 10 years.

Disney DVD says one highlight of its Platinum Edition DVD version of the musical comedy is an "extra" that showcases "American Idol" star Clay Aiken singing "Proud of Your Boy," a deleted song from Academy Award-winning songwriters Howard Ashman and Alan Menken.

The two-disc set also features a new music video of the "Aladdin" love theme, "A Whole New World," from married pop stars Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, as well as games, deleted scenes, a "making-of" film, a "virtual carpet ride" and a 3D tour of Genie's lamp.

"Aladdin" comes to home video Oct. 5.
