Kitty Carlisle Hart sings for her 94th

NEW YORK, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Former stage and screen star Kitty Carlisle Hart will celebrate her 94th birthday with a singing engagement at Feinstein's at the Regency, in New York.

Hart, who was chairman of the New York State Council on the Arts from 1976 to 1996, will appear at Feinstein's, one of the city's top caberet spots, Sept. 21-23 in a program of musical theater songs by Jerome Kern, Kurt Weill, George Gershwin, and Richard Rodgers. She is the widow of Broadway librettist Moss Hart, and has lectured nationally for many years on her career in show business.

The New Orleans-born Kitty Carlisle had a long career on Broadway and was seen most recently in the 1984 revival of "On Your Toes." She also appeared at the Metropolitan Opera in the role of Prince Orlovsky in "Die Fledermaus." Her extensive film career was highlighted by her performance in the Marx Brothers' "A Night at the Opera," and her most recent films were "Six Degrees of Separation" and "Catch Me If You Can."

Hart was actually best known to the general public as a regular panelist for 15 years on the TV show "To Tell the Truth."
