William opted for dancing over book event

LONDON, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- Prince William chose a night of clubbing with friends in London over attending an event launching a tribute book about Princess Diana, it was reported.

William, along with Princes Charles and Harry, were invited to Wednesday's soiree in honor of "Diana: The Portrait," a new book about the princess' humanitarian work, an event none of the princes attended, Britain's Mirror reported Friday.

Harry was in Africa and Charles had an official engagement, but William, who had declined, saying he had another engagement, reportedly was seen Wednesday at the Boujis nightclub in West London dancing with friends.

"I am disappointed he did not attend," said Mike Whitham, who worked with the princess on her anti-landmines campaign.

Other guests at the event included Diana's sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, who spoke publicly for the first time about her sister since the princess' fatal car crash seven years ago.
