The tour features acts including Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M., Pearl Jam, Dixie Chicks, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, Dave Matthews Band and John Mellencamp. They will be performing in nine battleground states in October, to promote the campaign of Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry.

Billboard also reported its recent poll of nearly 3,500 voters found that artists have limited influence on public opinion.

According to the poll, 75 percent of those surveyed said their political views were not influenced by the opinions of recording artists and other celebrities, while 8 percent said they could be influenced, and 17 percent said their views were "sometimes" changed by the opinions of artists.
