HOLLYWOOD, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- In its debut week, Buena Vista's "The Village" grossed $51 million and topped the U.S. box office, estimated the Web site boxofficemojo.com.
"The Bourne Supremacy," distributed by Universal, added $23 million to its box office of $98 million.
Paramount's "The Manchurian Candidate" grossed $20 million in its premier week.
Fox's "I, Robot" added $10 million to its box office of $115 million.
Sony's "Spider-Man 2" added $8.5 million to its box office of $344 million.
"Catwoman," distributed by Warner Bros., added $6 million to its box office of $29 million.
"Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle," distributed by New Line, grossed $5 million in its debut week.
"A Cinderella Story," distributed by Warner Bros., added $4.7 million to its box office of $40 million.
"Fahrenheit 9/11," distributed by Lions Gate, added $3.1 million to its box office of $109 million.
"Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," distributed by DreamWorks, added $3.1 million to its box office of $78 million.
