LOS ANGELES, July 30 (UPI) -- U.S. stuntman Robbie Knievel said he'll definitely crash when he jumps his motorcycle across the U.S.S. Intrepid, anchored in New York's Hudson River.
Knievel was scheduled to jump across five military planes parked on the Intrepid's flight deck Friday night, a feat airing live on cable's TNT, the New York Daily News reported.
Knievel's stunt coincides with TNT's premiere of a film about Knievel's father, Evel Knievel, famous for his motorcycle jumping antics.
Robbie Knievel said he needs more room for the stunt.
"There's only 850 feet on this deck. ... Ideally, I'd like 1,000 feet. So when I land, I only have 120 feet to stop," he said.
"If I have to slam it down like I do, I'll be skating like on an ice-skating rink when I hit the hay bales. I'm going to hit them hard, probably harder than I've ever hit them.
"I'm definitely going to crash. I can promise everybody that," Knievel said.
